Church Camp 2015 Final Update

When I was younger one of my and my best friend’s favorite movies was Extreme Days.  It is about a group of people who head out on a road trip with the goal of enjoying things like snowboarding, biking, etc.  As with all road trips, things didn’t always go as they had planned.  It turns into a heartwarming story of life lessons learned along the way.  One of my favorite quotes comes from this movie as well.  “When God throws a curve ball, don’t duck…you just might miss something.”  For me this has always been a guiding thought.  When doors close I try not to push them open or even stand outside the door wishing that it would open; and, in turn, when other doors open I try to walk through them.  God certainly does throw us curve balls sometimes.  Life can be this way too.  It is not always necessarily because of God’s orchestrating (although He is always Lord over every situation) but simply because life is often out of our hands that curve balls come our way.      I start with that because we have had some curve balls thrown our way and we are not ducking but are standing up to face and embrace them full on.  We believe that God is up to something and we don’t want to miss it.  With that said, I am making one final announcement about camp.  We will NOT be going to Camp Peniel in Pennsylvania this year due to situations either beyond our control or because of situations we are avoiding walking into.  I know you are probably thinking what in the world is going on that they are changing again and what in the world are they going to do.  I apologize for the back and forth and simply up in the air nature of camp...
